The Needle in the Haystack

Like the angel told the shepherds, the pastor search team at Real Life Church has “good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people.” (Luke 2:10)
The search team has found the proverbial needle in the haystack! Remember how God prepared Joshua to be the Israelite leader after Moses? Now God, through His divine guidance and wisdom, has led the team to the Joshua of Real Life Church. The team believes God has shown us the one He has prepared to be our next Lead Pastor.
When our Lead Pastor position first posted the team received over one hundred resumes of well-qualified men seeking that position. The task seemed enormous, but the team members frequently remind each other of the same truth the angel told Mary, “Nothing will be impossible with God.” (Luke 2:37) Unanimously the search team narrowed the field to six candidates, and now, again in complete unity, God has led us to one top candidate.
The search team is not at the point where we can release the candidate’s name. We can say he is a man with significant Lead Pastor experience. We have had zoom interviews and telephone calls with him. His online sermons are strongly based in God’s Word and are relevant and applicable. He is a strong leader who values team building and enjoys working with the church elders and staff. He is excited about the opportunities Real Life Church has to serve our community and city.
References describe this top candidate as “a man of God who deeply loves and teaches the Word of God” and “an incredible man with an incredible family.” This will be a time of tremendous change for our church, as well as for his family. Please continue to pray for
them and his current church as this transition hopefully becomes reality.
There is still substantial work for the pastor search team. The team needs to finish reference checks, speak again with him and include his wife, and then arrange for him to visit Real Life Church soon. Please pray for all logistical steps to be smooth, especially during the holiday season. Pray for God to clearly confirm His pick to our church and to confirm His calling to this remarkable chosen man of God who will hopefully be our next Lead Pastor, our Joshua.
